Samuel Carabello Mourned at Dennis Township Committee Meeting

By Helen McCaffrey

DENNISVILLE – A tinge of sadness overwhelmed the Dennis Township Committee meeting as each member recalled the untimely death of local resident Samuel Carabello III. The 21-year-old died of his injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident on Route 47 in Green Creek Aug. 24. Each committee member expressed deep sorrow and sent their individual and collective sympathies to the family.
Mayor John Murphy reported that he and Committeeman Frank Germanio met with the county about an Open Space grant and would keep their fingers crossed until the recipients were announced in December.
Murphy also announced that Jack Gibson, township engineer, would assume zoning officer duties temporarily.
Germanio reminded everyone that there will be a fall event at the Senior Center Oct. 29 starting at 12 p.m.
