CREST HAVEN – Freeholders reappointed Carol Saduk of Woodbine to a five-year term as a member of the Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority. The vote took place at the Jan. 22 meeting.
Saduk’s new term will extend from Feb. 2, 2019, to Feb. 1, 2024.
Also for five years, the board approved a resolution for a shared services agreement with the Borough of Wildwood Crest for dispatch services. The services will include fire, police, and emergency medical services. As previously reported here, the borough decision was approved by commissioners Dec. 27, 2018.
Another resolution amended a prior one that incorrectly stated the amount, $362,500, the county would pay to buy real estate at 372 Court House-South Dennis Road. The correct price is $462,500.
The property will be used by the County Prosecutor’s office when it interviews juveniles.
In other action, the board:
* Authorized the N.J Association of Counties to file a complaint with the state Council on Local Mandates that vote-by-mail law imposes an unfunded mandate on county governments.
It continued that the law cost counties “over $1 million to implement and administer in 2018.”
* Approved a resolution to designate January 2019 as National Human Trafficking Prevention Month in the county.
* Designated February as Career and Technical Education Month in the county.
