PETERSBURG – At the Upper Township Committee meeting Sept. 9, committee was informed about New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) plans for future road projects.
In the Marmora area, at the intersection of Route 9 and Roosevelt Boulevard, roadway improvements would include widening the road and installing sidewalks, curb and handicap ramps. The proposed improvements would provide better traffic control and enhance driver and pedestrian safety.
Additionally, road improvements are being planned for Harbor Road in Beesley’s Point.
Mayor Richard Palombo instructed Engineer Paul Dietrich to pass the preliminary plans to the Planning Board for its review and input. It was noted that these projects are not expected to begin before 2024-2025.
