PETERSBURG – Upper Township Committee approved a resolution Nov. 12, supporting a project funded by the state Department of Transportation that is in its preliminary, scope-of-work phase.
The project will include improvements around two intersections in the vicinity of the Tuckahoe Road to Roosevelt Boulevard stretch along Route 9 in Marmora. Maintenance paving will also be done from Beesley’s Point to Seaville.
According to additional information provided by Engineer Paul Dietrich, the timetable for the project is about three to five years, and the enhancements will encompass modifications for better turning radius, crosswalks, and re-alignments of the road, where necessary.
“Going forward, there will be ample opportunity for residents to provide their input on this project,” said Dietrich. “There is no municipal cost-sharing for this project, another huge benefit to Upper Township.”
