Resident Thanks County Employee

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders are used to hearing from residents at their meeting with requests but on Aug. 13, 2013, Thomas S. Kinnemand, Jr. attended the meeting to praise a county employee and simply say “Thank you”.
Freeholder Vice-Director Leonard Desiderio, who oversees the Cape May County Department of Consumer Affairs, said, “Mr. Kinnemand wrote a letter to the Board and attended the meeting to let us know that Dolores Rambo, a county employee in the Department of Consumer Affairs, went above and beyond in helping him resolve a problem.”
Kinnemand, a professional photographer, told the Freeholders that he purchased a camera over the internet in November 2012 for $1,350. The camera was received defective and Kinnemand returned it to the company the next day. After many failed attempts to recover his money from the company, he turned to the Cape May County Department of Consumer Affairs for help. Kinnemand said, “Dolores worked on this for me for many months and did not stop until the company completely refunded my $1,350.”
“I know it is the job of the department to protect citizens and visitors of Cape May County from illegal and unscrupulous merchants but when, as a resident, you find yourself in need of their services, know that they are there to do their job,” added Kinnemand.
The Cape May County Department of Consumer Affairs protects consumers from fraud, deceit and misrepresentation in the sale of goods and services. Freeholder Vice-Director Leonard C. Desiderio said, “Our employees are here to help the residents and visitors of Cape May County and they take their job very seriously. But, it is especially nice to hear about an employee who wouldn’t give up until the situation was rectified correctly. We are very proud of Dolores and thank her for a job well done.” “We also want to thank Mr. Kinnemand for taking the time to tell us about Dolores and the Department of Consumer Affairs”, added Freeholder Desiderio.
The Cape May County Department of Consumer Affairs is located at 4005 Route 9 South, Rio Grande, New Jersey. For information call 609-886-2903.
