LOWER TOWNSHIP — The renovations to the Lower Township Police Department has now entered its second phase. This phase, in part, includes the remodeling of the main lobby where citizens could conduct business involving the Police Clerks or where they would go to speak with a Police Officer to report a complaint, or get police related paperwork.
The new temporary police lobby is still in the same Public Safety building, located at 1389 Langley Road, Erma, but is now in the former Lower Township Rescue Squad’s section of the building across the lot adjacent to the old court entrance marked Police. The lobby can be accessed on a 24hr basis and all services that were available to the public in the former police lobby are still available in the temporary one.
The medicine drop box has been moved from the former lobby into a secured area within the building. Medication will now be taken directly by officers in the new temporary lobby. This service will continue to be a 24/7 program. Citizens are asked to advise dispatch from the temporary lobby phone that they are turning over prescriptions and an officer will be sent to meet them in the lobby and take the unwanted medications.
