Regulate E-scooters?

By Camille Sailer

SEA ISLE CITY – During public comments at its Aug. 15 meeting, Sea Isle City Council heard a resident express concerns regarding the burgeoning popularity of electric scooters.
These are mechanized vehicles that are operated on sidewalks at speeds of 15 mph and higher. “There are reports every day about how dangerous these scooters are,” said the resident. “I hope that council will discuss what to do about them.” Council gave assurances that it would begin to consider an ordinance regarding the operation of those scooters.
