Refurbished Lower Rec Building Hosts Basketball Finals

VILLAS – The newly-renovated Lower Township Recreation Center hosted finals of the basketball summer league July 24 with Middle Township High School taking the championship with a dramatic down-to-the-buzzer win over the Wildwood Catholic High School Crusaders.
The recreation center has new weight and physical fitness rooms. The center features a new game room with flat screen televisions and new meeting rooms. The building including the gymnasium is air conditioned.
The recreation center is located at 2600 Bayshore Rd., Villas.
The Lower Township Parks and Recreation Department will soon begin remodeling Mitnick Park located on Jonathan Hoffman Road in North Cape May. The park will receive new tennis and basketball courts and a professional beach volleyball court.
In addition, the playground will be upgraded.
