VILLAS — Lower Township Department of Parks and Recreation has taken the initiative during the past three years to upgrade and update all its playgrounds.
Updated playgrounds include Freeman S. Douglass Memorial Park, Clem Mulligan Park and Mitnick Park on Jonathan Hoffman Road.
Four playgrounds are covered in Play Safe, a rubber mulch designed to prevent injuries in children especially falls.
According to Lower Township Parks and Recreation Superintendent Mitch Plenn, next in line for an upgrade is the playground at the township’s Recreation Center on Bayshore Road in Villas.
The hockey rick at Clem Mulligan Park was recently resurfaced. In addition, all boards around the rink were replaced or repaired and repainted.
