COURT HOUSE – A group of parents attended the Middle Township Committee meeting Dec. 2, asking the governing body to help resolve ongoing concerns with the management of Recreation Department programs.
“We are seeking better communication, fair play, and improved organization,” one mother said.
The group said that problems have been long-standing, and that so far, the change in leadership of the department has not resulted in the needed improvements. The parents compared the experience in Middle Township to what they said is a much better environment in towns like Avalon. “There, we know when the games will be played, how tryouts will work, and what the costs are,” one told committee.
Mayor Timothy Donohue, who oversees the Recreation Department, said he knows “we have a ways to go.” He thanked the parents for coming out. “We know we have to do better,” he said.
Following the meeting, one parent said, “If there isn’t an improvement, we will be here every meeting.”
