Question Stripes, Fences

By Camille Sailer

SEA ISLE CITY – During the public comment portion of its meeting July 24, residents informed Sea Isle City Council of concerns related to no-parking striping at 45th Street and the placement of beach fencing at 78th Street. Regarding striping, Chief of Police Thomas McQuillen explained that the striping at the location of the former 45th Street police station recently had been removed thereby creating five new parking spaces. The striping across the street had been left, he said, since the building was to be razed. For safety reasons, at least for now, that area was off limits to parking. Regarding the fencing, city administration noted that the new zigzag placement could be possibly linked to the adjacent property owner who had incentive to adjust it to benefit his property line and that the issue would be fixed immediately.
