NORTH WILDWOOD – Prosecutor Robert Taylor, North Wildwood Chief of Police Matthew Gallagher, and school administrators of the Wildwood Catholic High School jointly announce the completion of a random K9 sweep of Wildwood Catholic High School for narcotics.
According to a release, following the start of the school day Feb. 22, a pre-planned, unannounced K9 sweep operation for illegal drugs was coordinated by the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, the North Wildwood Police Department and by school officials.
K9 units from the Cape May County Sheriff’s Department conducted the random sweep of lockers and vehicles at Wildwood Catholic High School.
No narcotics were found, according to Taylor.
Prosecutor Taylor commended the cooperation of law enforcement agencies and the initiative of the Wildwood Catholic school administrators in supporting drug prevention philosophies.
The purpose of the operation was to help the school administrators maintain a safe and drug-free school environment, as well as to send a strong deterrent message to its students.
Law enforcement will continue to work closely with community and school officials on a regular basis to hold future operations throughout Cape May County.
