MARMORA — The Marmora Post Office, 120 Tuckahoe Road, will host a special, two-hour only, postmark cancellation Fri., Sept. 24, from 9 -11 a.m.
Representatives and actual shelter cats and dogs from the Beacon Animal Shelter and Animal Outreach of Cape May County will be participating as well.
This special stamp cancellation event will increase public awareness about sheltered pets, encourage pet adoption, and promote humane and responsible pet care.
The United States Postal Service’s 2010 Social Awareness Stamps: Animal Rescue – Adopt a Shelter Pet will be available to purchase the entire day.
The cost is $8.80 for a sheet of twenty 44-cent stamps. Complimentary blank envelopes will be on hand for those interested in purchasing the stamps and receiving the special postmark cancellation to officiate the day.
