Arrest for Assault
BURLEIGH — Middle Township police arrested Joseph W. Miller, 24, of Del Haven Dec. 27 at 9:42 a.m. after they responded to a 9-1-1 call reporting a disturbance in the 300 bock of North Wildwood Boulevard.
That call was disconnected.
When officers arrived on scene, they learned that Miller had allegedly engaged in an argument with two parties at the residence. Police report Miller than interfered with their investigation and became violent. They allege he assaulted Patrolman John Norton, and after being subdued, was placed under arrest.
He continued his outburst, and allegedly kicked out the window, and bent the doorframe of a police car.
He was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice and malicious damage.
Bail was set at $20,000, 10 percent by Judge James Birchmeir.
Miller was lodged in county jail. The officer received a minor head injury. He was treated and released.
Armed Robbery
WHITESBORO — At about 10:55 p.m., Dec. 26, Middle Township police received a report of an armed robbery of a pizza deliveryman, in the area of Sulloway Avenue.
When officers arrived, they found the 25-year-old victim, employed by a Court House pizza parlor, who was making delivery.
The driver told them a black male subject, who first showed a knife, then a handgun, demanded money from him.
An undisclosed sum was given to the robber, who fled on foot. The deliveryman was not injured.
The suspect was described as a black male, about 6 feet tall, dark complexion, with a black puffy jacket and a hood.

Arrest for Waving Gun
SWAINTON — On Dec. 25 at about 12:13 p.m., Middle Township police received a report of a man walking down Route 9, waving a handgun in the vicinity of the county park.
Police found Arthur A. Kelley, 56, of Green Creek, southbound on Route 9 allegedly carrying a handgun. He complied with orders to surrender the weapon, a spring-loaded BB gun.
He was charged with possession of a handgun (imitation) and unlawful possession of a handgun.
He was remanded to county jail on $10,000 cash bail.
Patrolman Bill Adams and Bob Shepherd investigated the incident.
