Police Beef Up Patrols for Holiday Shopping Season

By Herald Staff

MIDDLE TOWNSHIP POLICE RELEASE:
RIO GRANDE — Middle Township Police plans to increase our presence in the business districts this holiday season.
We are taking a proactive approach to make this shopping season a peaceful and enjoyable event.
Officers will be patrolling the parking lot with high visibility patrols. Uniformed and undercover Officers will be inside the store to help combat purse thefts and shoplifting.
There are a few simple steps the public can take to prevent themselves from becoming a victim.
Be sure to lock your car door. The majority of thefts from a car occur when the door is not locked.
Women should be aware of where they have their purse. Do not put the purse in the cart; even if you cover it up with items it is not safe. It only takes a moment to be distracted and someone may take it.
Middle Township Police want you to be safe and enjoy our shopping districts.
