Permit Required to Grill on Beach

NORTH WILDWOOD – Grilling on North Wildwood beaches is not a new fad, according to City Clerk Scott Jett. During a North Wildwood City Council meeting Oct. 15, Jett read a newspaper article from 1924, describing the situation after Wildwood banned the practice.
Council introduced an amendment to beach rules and regulations, specifying that residents must obtain a permit for grilling on the beach. Seasonal permits (October–April) are available from the North Wildwood Fire Department.
Jett said the former amendment did not specify the need to obtain a permit. Grilling is prohibited from May through September.
