CREST HAVEN – Freeholders gave approval to seven projects totaling $981,777 funded through the county’s Open Space program at the June 26 meeting.
Since its inception, the program was amended to permit the use of funds for the preservation of historic structures as well as for recreational uses.
All had previously won the consent of the Open Space Review Board. Funds are disbursed upon completion and inspection of the projects.
Projects are:
Martin Luther King Complex, Whitesboro, tennis courts, $120,565.
Woodbine Community Park, increased $215,960 for a total not to exceed $700,000.
Wildwood Crest Sunset Lake Stabilization and recreational improvements, $302,852.
Cape May War Memorial Park Improvement, $189,208.
Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities, Inc. Cape May for the restoration of Physick Estate “Upside down” Chimneys 1 and 5, $38,700.
Historic Cold Spring Village preservation of four buildings, $48,120.
Naval Air Station Wildwood, repair of siding, windows and fascia, $66,372.
