CREST HAVEN – Open Space Trust Fund appraisals for two urban parcels were approved by freeholders Sept. 13. Two appraisals will be performed on each tract, a standard procedure before purchase price is set.
The Open Space Review Board has submitted applications:
PII Wildwood LLC, 1.46 acres in Wildwood at 3400 Pacific Ave.
City of Ocean City, 13,939 square feet, at 19 W. Ninth St. (Block 811.01, Lot 3).
In a related Open Space Review Board matter, freeholders authorized acquisition of 14,018 square feet of ground in West Wildwood for $930,000 at 13, 17 and 19 Bay Avenue. The tract was purchased from Sayco Corp. and Robert A. and Christine Stagliano.
The resolution also authorized a leasing and management agreement with the Borough of West Wildwood for the purpose of improving and maintaining the property.
In another Open Space acquisition, freeholders approved the purchase of a .51-acre tract at 703 Route 9 North, Court House for $200,500 from James and Rosemarie Deeney. The land is adjacent to the main county park.
In other action the board:
Approved a shared services agreement with Woodbine for animal shelter services for a five-year period.
Approved a lease of five years, effective June 1, 2016, with Forgotten Warriors (a non-profit corporation) to lease, for $1 per year, property at the County Airport in Erma to operate a museum “to collect and display Vietnam veterans’ artifacts.”
Gave permission to advertise for bids for a Primate Exhibit at the County Park Zoo. Bids will be received Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. by the Clerk of the Board.
Awarded a $6.5-million contract to South State Inc. for Roosevelt Boulevard (C.R. 623) over Crook Horn Creek Bridge deck rehabilitation. The firm was lowest of six bidders Aug. 24.
Awarded a $2.8-million contract to Marbro Inc. for replacement of the 17th Street Bridge over Venetian-Carnival Bayou in Ocean City. The firm was the lowest of three bidders Aug. 31.
