COURT HOUSE – At its Oct. 1 meeting, Middle Township Committee agreed to issue a social affairs permit that will allow New Jersey Cape Diagnostic, Training and Opportunity Center to have a beer tent at this year’s Harvest Festival, Oct. 27.
The non-profit organization provides services and employment training for individuals with developmental, physical and psychiatric disabilities. The beer tent was cited as a major fundraising effort for an organization that largely depends on state contracts that don’t meet all expenses. Jersey Cape provided the township with proof of appropriate insurance.
For the last several years the Bellevue Tavern has had the only venue at the festival that served alcoholic beverages.
