Ocean Drive Toll Hike Hearing Dec. 11

CREST HAVEN — A public hearing will take place Thursday, Dec. 11 at 10 a.m. in the Cape May County Administration Building, 4 Moore Road regarding the Cape May County Bridge Commission’s proposed toll rate increase on the five Ocean Drive Bridges operated by the commission.
Tolls would increase to $1.50 in one direction, up from the present $1. The increased tolls would be used to pay interest and principal on a $12 million bond that was secured in 2005 to fund various repairs.
Bridges operated by the commission include Ocean City-Longport, Corson’s Inlet, Townsend’s Inlet, Grassy Sound, and Middle Thorofare.
