Ocean City Police Respond to 101 Calls per Day

OCEAN CITY — During the week of April 12 – 18, police here responded to 710 calls for service for an average of 101 per day.
Below is a summary of police activity for the week.
April 12, 2009: Sunday (Easter)
Calls for service: 77

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCMENTS:
• Merchants are reminded that they should lock all doors and windows, activate alarm systems and not leave large amounts of money in the closed business overnight. Also any backlighting in the store will deter burglaries.
• Just a reminder that DOGS are NOT ALLOWED on the boardwalk at anytime during the year. You may walk your dog on the beach between the months of October and May. Dogs also must always be kept on a leash.
• The Ocean City Police Department Tip of the Month: Neighbors are encouraged to take “Ownership” in their respective neighborhoods. They should report all suspicious activity to the police immediately. Citizens play a vital role in the success of police work and our ability to prevent and to solve crimes
