OCEAN CITY — During the week of Sunday, Oct. 19 to Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, the Ocean City Police Department responded to 575 calls for service, or an average of 82 per day.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCMENTS:
• The Ocean City Police Dept. would like to remind everyone that this is Halloween Week. Please be careful driving at night on Oct.31, 2008(Friday). Also the annual parade will be held on Oct. 30, 2008 on Asbury Avenue. This is also mischief night and all are advised that the police will not tolerate acts of mischief that may injure persons or damage property.
• This week starts the targeted patrol operations for the Police Department. Officers will be focusing on traffic safety concerns and enforcing violations of various motor vehicle codes.
• The Ocean City Primary School has been asked to participate in the naming of the New K-9 Patrol Dog. Students will submit name sand a winner will be announced on November 14, 2008
• Capt. Jay Prettyman spoke at the most recent meeting of the Ocean City Exchange Club
