Ocean City Police Arrest Local Man for Theft of Donation Canister

OCEAN CITY — Ocean City Police were called to investigate a theft at the Sunoco Gas Station in the 200 block 9th Street on April 6.
It was reported that a donation canister for the American Cancer Society had been taken from the counter of the store.
The investigating officers were able to view a surveillance video from the stores security camera. Captured in the video was a black male, wearing a distinctive coat. External video also captured a vehicle that was believed to be used by the suspect.
Sgt. Brian Trestle and Det. Dan Lancaster were able to identify the suspect as Gary Wilson, 33, of Ocean City, a person that both officers were familiar with from prior contacts. Based on the officers’ identification, Wilson was charged with theft and released on a summons.
