OC Fire, Rescue Services Swearing-In Rescheduled

OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City Department of Fire and Rescue Services will hold a swearing-in ceremony at 6 p.m., March 16, at the Ocean City Tabernacle (550 Wesley Avenue). The event had originally been scheduled for March 2 but was postponed due to the weather.
Ocean City’s new fire chief, James P. Smith, will be sworn in during the event, a fire department tradition. The ceremony also will include the swearing-in of members for each rank of the fire department, including deputy chief, captain and firefighter.
Retired Ocean City Beach Patrol Chief of Operations Tom Mullineaux will be honored for his 51 years of service to the patrol.
The ceremony is open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
