NORTH WILDWOOD — The North Wildwood Police Department will be participating in No-Shave November for the first time this year. The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, with officers growing beards and goatees. We will be donating the money we typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle.
Our officers will be raising money for 6 year old Cape May County resident Joey Povio, who was diagnosed with a rare eye cancer, retinoblastoma, in July of this year. The North Wildwood Police Department supports Joey and his family as he fights this battle. #JoeyStrong #NoShaveNovember
In order to participate in No-Shave November, our officers will be donating money to the Povio family to help pay for medical and travel expenses for Joey’s treatment. If anyone else would like to donate to this worthy cause, The North Wildwood Police Officers Assocation (N.W.P.O.A.) will be collecting money from now until Nov. 30, 2016. All money collected will go directly to Joey’s family. Checks can be sent to: N.W.P.O.A., Attn: No-Shave November, 901 Atlantic Avenue, North Wildwood, NJ 08260.
