North Wildwood Council Seeks to Fill Vacancy

By Deborah McGuire

NORTH WILDWOOD – North Wildwood Republican Municipal Chairman Patrick Rosenello announced the North Wildwood Republican Organization will be conducting interviews Thur., April 26 at 6 p.m. in the North Wildwood Recreation Center for members of the community who are interested in filling the council seat left vacant by the death of Rick Ogen.
According to Rosenello, by state statute, the municipal political organization of the political party of which the former Council member was a member, may meet to select three candidates who will be presented to City Council. Council then has the option of either selecting one of the presented candidates or opting to leave the seat vacant until the next general election.
Any resident of the First Ward in the City of North Wildwood who is qualified to fill the vacant seat is encouraged to interview. The First Ward stretches from Anglesea to the northern side of 11th Avenue. A qualified person is defined as a registered voter from the same party as the former member, in this case, a Republican.
