North Wildwood Acquires New Fire Trailer at No Expense to Local Taxpayers

NORTH WILDWOOD – On Wed., May 10, 2017 at approximately 11:00 a.m., the United States Department of Agriculture in conjunction with the City of North Wildwood, NJ held a press conference at the North Wildwood Fire House – 400 New Jersey Avenue, North Wildwood, NJ 08260 to announce the City’s acquisition of a new fire prevention trailer using USDA – Rural Development funds. Members of the USDA, members of the North Wildwood Fire Department, elected officials of the City of North Wildwood, and representatives of TRIAD Associates – the City’s grant coordinator were present at the press conference and tour of the new fire prevention vehicle.
The purchase of the City’s new fire prevention trailer was made at no cost to the taxpayers of the City of North Wildwood, through the use of grant funding provided by the United States Department of Agriculture totaling $46,600.00, in conjunction with private donations that were allocated specifically for the 25% match ($29,871.00), covering the total cost of $76,471.00 for the purchase of the City’s new fire prevention trailer.
“It is always gratifying to see federal, state and local governing bodies working together to provide municipal infrastructure improvements, and financial assistance to purchase much needed equipment for communities like ours,” said Mayor Patrick Rosenello. “On behalf of the City of North Wildwood, I am very appreciative of the USDA’s partnership, and I look forward to strengthening our relationship with that branch of the federal government as we look toward future, mutually beneficial public safety initiatives,” said Mayor Rosenello.
