COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Department of Aging and Disability Services is accepting nominations for the 2013 Outstanding Service Recognition Award. The purpose of this award is to acknowledge individuals, organizations and/or businesses for their various contributions to improving the quality of life for individuals with disabilities living in Cape May County.
To nominate a candidate, you may request a Nomination Form from Paulann Pierson by calling 609-886-2784 or via email to ppierson@co.cape-may.nj.us or go to the CMC Department of Aging and Disability Services on the Cape May County website capemaycountygov.net for a link to the form. Completed forms may be mailed to Paulann Pierson, Cape May County Department of Aging and Disability Services, 4005 Route 9 South, Rio Grande, NJ 08242 or emailed to ppierson@co.cape-may.nj.us. Deadline for submission is Oct. 26, 2013.
Previous winners of the Outstanding Service Recognition Award have been the Upper Township Challenger Sports Program, founded by Daryl and Jen DiTroia; Carolyn Richards, founder of the HLLA South Jersey Support Group for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Adults, which meets at Cape Regional Medical Center; and Jean Kammer, founder of the S.W.I.M., Inc. Program in Wildwood Crest. Previous winners and all County employees are not eligible to be nominated.
The winner of the 2013 Outstanding Service Recognition Award will be honored at the 5th Annual Cape May County Community Disabilities Awareness Day event on Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a new location, the Avalon Elementary School in Avalon, New Jersey.
