By Rachel Rogish

NORTH WILDWOOD ─ City Council introduced an ordinance Nov. 20 that prohibits vehicles from creating a “wake” or “wave” in flooded areas. According to City Administrator Kevin Yecco, complaints have reached City Hall regarding the “wake” created by speeding motorists that sends water over curbs.
The amendment will designate the no-wake zone at six-inches of water or above and is designed to protect both public and private properties.
The ordinance will be presented on second reading at the next city council meeting.
