WILDWOOD ─ City Solicitor Mary D’Arcy Bittner explained the purpose of an amendment to Wildwood Boardwalk’s smoking ban Aug. 22. The amendment, including vapors and electric cigarettes, brings the city’s policy into compliance with Gov. Phil Murphy’s law.

“New Jersey Smoke Free-Air Act” prohibits smoking at “public beaches and parks and defines smoking to include electric or vapor cigarettes.” The amendment was introduced Aug. 22 and will be presented for a second reading at the next regularly scheduled commissioners’ meeting.
