No Move on Del Haven Water

DEL HAVEN – A July meeting of the Middle Township Committee at the Green Creek Fire Hall outlined a possible plan for bringing water mains to Del Haven by means of a partnership with the Lower Township Municipal Utilities Authority (LTMUA). On Nov. 19, the committee’s agenda contained a resolution concerning a closed session for discussion of “water service options” for Del Haven.
After 2015 discussions with the township’s major supplier, New Jersey-American Water, fell through due to high projected expense, the LTMUA option was presented to Del Haven residents with the caveat that the proposal would only work if a connection to the water supply were mandatory.
Discussions proceed, but there is no word on when a vote by the governing body might occur. Asked at the Nov. 19 meeting about timing, Mayor Michael Clark said: “I don’t know when we will vote on this.”
