NEWARK, NJ — NJ TRANSIT today invited customers to participate in an interactive live chat hosted by Executive Director James Weinstein. The live interactive event will be the first ever for an NJ TRANSIT Executive Director, and the first to use live streaming video to interact with customers.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 15, 2010 at noon.
Customers may submit written questions in advance or during the event at njtransit.com/live and can tune in Wednesday with their desktop computer to watch or participate. Mr. Weinstein will respond to the written questions live on the Internet. A text transcript of the event will be available the following day.
“We have scheduled the online chat at lunchtime to maximize participation and give customers the opportunity to ask questions on any topic on their minds,” said Weinstein. “I look forward to hearing directly from our riders about their day-to-day commuting experiences and suggestions on how we can improve our services.”
While NJ TRANSIT has conducted online interactive forums in the past, next week’s event marks the first time an Executive Director is participating. NJ TRANSIT’s two previous online chats were both conducted by the Vice President and General Manager of Rail Operations.
Customers encouraged to submit questions online at njtransit.com/live
