CAPE MAY – Cape May City Council heard a report from a subcommittee of the Advisory Committee on Municipal Buildings and Property May 7. The subcommittee took on the task of examining the existing public restrooms in the city, documenting their location and condition. The report also made recommendations to council on the need for new restrooms.
A series of five recommendations started with the need to renovate the Grant Street restroom which the subcommittee said is in the worst shape among existing facilities. New restrooms were also recommended for beach areas at both Jackson and Queen streets.
Stating that the trailer restrooms at the Cove and at Trenton Avenue had come to the end of their useful life, the subcommittee recommended they be removed and new restrooms constructed.
The recommendations also included creating restrooms in the Convention Hall Annex Building.
