STONE HARBOR – Stone Harbor bayside homeowners who have been unable to install pools due to the established bulkhead set back requirements will finally get relief.
At issue were rules that used the more elusive “established bulkhead” line rather than the “actual bulkhead” as the point for measuring the setback for bayside pools. The established bulkhead line was created to protect line of sight, protecting neighboring views of the water from obstruction.
On July 3, the council introduced an ordinance change that would allow bayside pools up to five feet from the actual bulkhead to a maximum height of 8.7 feet.
The ordinance is set for adoption and the required public hearing at the Aug. 7 council meeting.
