Neville Takes Seat on Council

By Jack Fichter

VILLAS – Newly elected Ward Two Lower Township Councilman James Neville received his oath of office before Township Council and the public Dec. 3.
It was more of a public ceremony since Neville was officially sworn in Nov. 21, according to Mayor Michael Beck.
Independent Neville defeated Republican Walter Craig 1,685 votes to 1,354.
Neville’s wife Patricia held the Bible as he received his oath.
Beck said it took the “wisdom of Solomon to run a town.”
“I think you’re more than capable of doing a fantastic job in Ward Two,” he said. “People need your help, it’s a tough world out there.
“Government doesn’t have all the answers but they look to you to do the best you can,” continued Beck.
During council comments, Neville thanked residents for electing him.
