National Institute of Government Held Purchasing Meeting Sept. 26

COURT HOUSE — Freeholder E. Marie Hayes and the Board of Chosen Freeholders hosted the luncheon meeting of the Southern New Jersey Chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (SJNIGP) on Sept. 26, 2013 at the Cape May County Park and Zoo. SJNIGP meets every two months at various venues in Southern New Jersey to promote professionalism in public procurement. Approximately, forty people attended the meeting that was conducted by Margaret Vitelli, President of SJNIGP and Purchasing Agent for Lower Township.
During the meeting, Gordon Ball, NJ DCA, and Tammy Fetherman, Secretary spoke on pending legislation and the Pcard. Also, information was provided regarding governmental buying and Kim Allen, Cape May County Purchasing Agent spoke on buying for the Park/Zoo; capital projects and contracts for food and concessions. Additionally, Mike Laffey, Parks Director provided an overview of the Cape May County Park and Zoo.
Freeholder Hayes said, “It was a pleasure hosting this organizational meeting at our Park and Zoo and watching the exchange of information and ideas.” Hayes added, “It is always a joy to have new visitors come to our wonderful zoo which is truly a gem of Cape May County.”
