COURT HOUSE — Twelve winners of the 19th annual My County Poster Contest were honored today at the Cape May County Court House, Jury Assembly Room at 9 North Main Street.
The 12 winning posters were selected from among entries submitted by 348 fourth grade students from seven elementary schools who participated in the contest sponsored by Cape May County’s Constitutional Officers – Sheriff Gary G. Schaffer, Surrogate W. Robert Hentges, and County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti.
The winners are as follows:
First Place: Paige Fox, Margaret Mace Elementary School
Second Place: Matt Mealey Upper Township Elementary School
Third Place, Amy Poserina Cape Trinity Elementary School.
Honorable Mention: Gabrielle Zenyuk, Dennis Township Elementary School

Evan Holmes, Upper Township Elementary School

The winning posters are now on display in the West Lobby of the Court House for the month of April in celebration of County Government Month. The annual event is hosted by the Constitutional Officers during April National County Government Month to bring awareness of the function of county government to fourth graders, who regularly study the topic as part of their curriculum.
The winning posters will be featured on a 2011-2012-color poster calendar distributed to the winners and 2011-2012 fourth grade class.
All winners received a book bag filled with items and a personalized mug. The first place winner will receive a $100 U.S. Savings Bond plus a home room pizza party lunch, second and third place winners will receive a $50 U.S. Savings Bond.
