OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Police have investigated 18 burglaries of homes in the south end of the island over the past two weeks.
The burglaries consist of forced entry into the homes via a side entrance that is not visible from the street.
Taken from the homes have been flat panel televisions of various sizes. No other items of value have been removed from the homes.
Most of the reported incidents have occurred south of 40th Street along Central and Asbury Avenue.
Homeowners are encouraged to check their residences on a regular basis and make sure that no damage or thefts have occurred.
If a home is equipped with an alarm system it should be active at all times. If you will be away for an extended period of time than all valuable property should be placed out of sight from windows and doors.
The police department is currently monitoring this area with extra patrols and conducting property checks on a random basis. All suspicious activity or vehicles should be reported immediately to the Ocean City Police Department by calling “911.”
