MUA Hosts Recycling Contest; ‘Recycle, Reuse, Make New’

COURT HOUSE — The Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority (CMCMUA) and its partner organizations are sponsoring a County-wide Creative Recycling Contest that began on America Recycles Day, Nov. 15.
Entries must be created using reused and/or recycled materials as the primary component. Participants should submit their entries, along with a completed contest entry form, in one of the following categories: Crafts, Clothing, Art, Gadgets, or Games. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded in each category.
The contest is open to all Cape May County residents, regardless of age. Entries must be delivered to the Lockwood 4-H Youth Center Building, located at 355 Court House-South Dennis Road, Court House, between March 1 and March 3, 2011, from noon until 7 p.m. daily.
After the completion of judging, entries will be displayed at selected locations throughout Cape May County until the 2011 Cape May County Earth Day Fair, which will be held Sat., May 7, 2011 at the Cape May County Park and Zoo.
Winners will be formally announced and prizes awarded at the Earth Day Fair.

CMCMUA Recycling Contest Partner Organizations include: The Cape May County Earth Day Committee, the Cape May County Park and Zoo, the Nature Center of Cape May, the Rutgers NJAES Cooperative Extension, the Cape May County Beach Plum Association, the Wetlands Institute and the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities.
