Motor Vehicle Inspection Station Hours Change

By Herald Staff

MAYVILLE — New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) customers are advised that all 29 inspection stations statewide, including the station located at 6 W. Shellbay Ave., Mayville, will begin new Monday through Friday hours of operation as of May 3.
Weekday hours will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Each station will continue to offer one late night per week until 7 p.m. In Mayville, the late night is Tuesday. Saturday hours of operation will remain unchanged at 7:00 a.m. to Noon.
The one-hour adjustment to early morning service hours, where only six percent of vehicles are inspected, will allow the State of New Jersey to save approximately $770,000 annually.
For additional motor vehicle inspection information, please visit njinspections.com or call 1-888-NJ-MOTOR.
Appointments are required for inspections at the Mayville station.
