Mosquito Spraying E-mail an April Fool’s Hoax

By Jack Fichter

ERMA — An email circulating through the county indicating a mass aerial spraying for mosquitoes on April 1 is an April Fool’s Day hoax.
The email indicated between the hours of 10:45 a.m. until 2 p.m., all of Cape May County would be dusted by planes for mosquito control. The email was signed A.F.D.M.A of which, the A and F stand for April Fool.
Lower Township Police Chief Edward Donohue confirmed with the county Mosquito Commission that no spraying has been scheduled.
