More than Plastic Bags

By Vince Conti

AVALON – Avalon Council President John McCorristin told the public June 13 that the borough was moving aggressively on environmental issues that are impacting marine life and sensitive marine ecosystems.
Both McCorristin and Council member Nancy Hudanich said that plans were being made in cooperation with the business community and that a variety of environmentally dangerous items were under discussion. “This involves more than plastic bags,” Hudanich said.
Business administrator Scott Wahl noted that a meeting was scheduled for June 19, with members of the business community to explain what the borough is thinking about and to get feedback.
