DENNISVILLE – At its Aug. 14 meeting, Dennis Township Committee passed a resolution that authorized an agreement between the township and business administrator incumbent, Pat Moran.
Additional information provided to the Herald by Mayor Zeth Matalucci noted, “Pat has proven himself to be an invaluable resource for our township and his leadership style means our employees are taking pride in their work again.
“Pat is extremely passionate about his job and constantly exceeds his hours every week without compensation just to make sure everything is running smoothly. This is why the committee agreed to reduce our pay to give him the little bit extra he deserves at no cost to the taxpayers. His salary of $52,000 per year is way less than what neighboring municipalities are paying their part-time administrators.
“I just read an article where two towns are sharing one administrator, and one party is spending $8,000 per month, and the other is spending $2,333 a month, plus additional benefits. Pat receives $2,000 bi-weekly, no benefits, no take-home vehicle, no cell phone, no pension, and we get far more hours than they do.”
