CREST HAVEN – Daniel L. Money of Rio Grande was appointed Feb. 27 by freeholders as a member of the Atlantic Cape Community College Board of Trustees.
His four-year term will expire Oct. 31, 2021, according to the resolution passed by the board.
Money is one of three voting members of the board appointed by freeholders under the Joint Venture College Agreement.
The announcement seeking resumes from interested persons for the appointment was made by freeholders Nov. 14, 2017.
Money will replace Mary O’Brien Long, who served on the board for 19 years and was honored by the board for her service, according to a December 2017 release.
Money will join other county residents, Dave Coskey, of Avalon, and Ellen Nicholson Byrne, of Sea Isle City, both appointed by freeholders, and Christina P. Clemans, of Lower Township, a state appointee.
Money retired as principal of the Cape May County Technical School.
In other action the board:
* Approved a $43,681 change order with Motorola Solutions Inc. for purchase and installation of additional radio equipment for the Office of Emergency Management.
* Awarded a contract to Center for Family Services Inc. to run the Youth Shelter from July 1 to Dec. 31, 2018, with four one-year options. Purchasing Agent Kevin Lare told the board the contract provides for five beds per day at the present shelter on Crest Haven Road. If the county completes the 4.5 years in the contract, the total will be about $1.6 million. He said off-site service would have cost more and had problems of visitation and schooling.

* Appointed Eleanor McBride to the Human Services Advisory Council with a term ending Feb. 28, 2021.
