COURT HOUSE – Middle Township property owners are encouraged to gather their unwanted documents and bring them to the Township’s open shred day event to be held on Nov. 9, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The event will be held at 400 West Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
“This open shred event provides an excellent opportunity for the public to safely dispose of their unwanted documents”, said Robert Flynn, Middle Township’s Director of Public Works. “Every document will be shredded on site and all of the shredded materials will be recycled into new paper products”.
Middle Township has contracted the services of DocuVault Delaware Valley to conduct the open shred day event. Property owners are may bring their paper products to the event where residents will be able to see their materials shredded on site. Only paper products will be accepted for shredding. Among the items not being accepted for shredding include three ring binders and binder clips; documents secured with staples and paper clips will be accepted.
During the open shred event, the Middle Township Department of Recreation will be on site to accept shoes as part of the department’s Shoe Box Recycling Program. All paired men’s, women’s, and children’s shoes in usable condition will be accepted and later distributed to those in need.
