MIDDLE TOWNSHIP– Thursday, May 13, 2010, Middle Township Municipal Clerk Kimberly Tomkinson swore in 12 members of the newly formed Middle Township Fire Police. They will be utilized at fires, accidents, and many other special events occuring in Middle Township.
The townhip previously utilized services provided by the Cape May County Fire Police – Station 27, but as of January 8, 2010, the township was informed by the Cape May County Emergency Management Center that the county would no longer be dispatching their services.
The newly formed Middle Township Fire Police has approximately 20 members, all of which are active firemen from within the volunteer districts of Middle Township. They also were required to pass a two day fire police course given by the Cape May County Fire Academy.
If any Middle Township resident would like information on the newly formed unit, they can contact Captain Paul Fritsch of the Middle Township Police Department at 609-465-8700.
Sea Isle City – I would like to let everyone know that the fire chief salary also includes 4% raises in the next four years, while they offered public works and everybody else much less.
