COURT HOUSE – Middle Township received three special recognition awards at the Atlantic County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund (JIF) 2015 safety kickoff breakfast and awards ceremony, held Feb. 19 in Vineland.
The JIF presented Middle Township with its Safety Excellence Award and $1,500 prize in recognition of the township’s initiatives to promote safety and focus on lowering the risks associated with municipal operations. Areas of focus include police, emergency medical services, public works and recreation. Safety committee meetings, trainings, and post-accident investigations all contribute to promoting safety.
Middle Township Clerk Kimberly Krauss was honored for her implementation of the township’s Employee Health and Wellness Committee. Under her leadership, the municipality has recently converted a previously unused area in Town Hall into a fitness facility for employees’ use. The committee has also organized events including an upcoming community health day, golf outings and wellness seminars. Krauss was also honored as Middle Township’s February Employee of the Month in recognition of her remarkable dedication to the township and its employees.
Joseph Giannattasio, Coordinator of Middle Township’s Clean Communities program, was also honored by the JIF for his coordination of an environmental awareness class for employees and local students onboard the schooner A.J. Meerwald.
“Congratulations to these employees for this well-deserved recognition,” Mayor Tim Donohue said. “We remain committed to creating a safe, healthy and productive work environment for our staff. Awards like this advertise the value of these efforts and the employees who personify this commitment.”
The JIF Special Recognition Award Program is designed to recognize departments, individuals or teams that go beyond the core requirements of the JIF’s Safety Incentive Program.
