COURT HOUSE – At its March 4 meeting, Middle Township Committee awarded a contract to the engineering firm, Mott MacDonald. Mayor Timothy Donohue said that the firm would look at the life expectancy of the sewer system and where capital investments may best be made.
Two years of unexpectedly high charges from the county MUA (Municipal Utilities Authority) led a number of efforts by the township to look at ways in which the flow to the MUA may be impacted by stormwater intrusion in an aging system.
Donohue also said that township officials would continue discussions with the MUA over billing issues which contributed in 2018 to a hike in the local purpose tax levy.
