COURT HOUSE – The Middle Township Committee passed a resolution July 17 authorizing a grant application for funds to improve the area of downtown Court House.
The township recently held a public hearing on its plans for the area which include changes to the traffic patterns on Mechanic Street and Hand Avenue, shifting parking to angled spaces on only one side of the street, enlarging sidewalks and creating new community space. Different conceptual plans were discussed at the hearing.
The resolution provided no further detail on the final plan that will be submitted, but it does prepare the way for the application. The state grant provides federal funds for “non-traditional” surface transportation-related projects.
