COURT HOUSE — During the weekend of July 15, members of the Middle Township Police Department initiated a “quality of life” detail in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township.
This detail consisted of plain clothed officers walking around the area of local establishments and bus stops enforcing public nuisance complaints that have been received by the public regarding public drunkenness, loitering and underage drinking of alcoholic beverages.
The detail resulted in the arrests of eight individuals. The following is a list of those individuals arrested and the offenses committed.
David Worster, 49, of Rio Grande, was arrested for having an open container of alcohol in public.
Albert Otto, 48, of Wildwood, was arrested for having an open container of alcohol in public.
Danielle Stern, 18, of Woodcliff Lake, was arrested for using a fictitious identification card to purchase alcoholic beverages.
Camilo Garcia, 19, from Philadelphia, was arrested for using a fictitious identification card to purchase alcoholic beverages and obstruction by flight, a crime of the 4th degree, by fleeing on foot when told to stop by police. He was released on a criminal summons complaint.
Joseph Tursi, 18, from Philadelphia, was arrested for using a fictitious identification card to purchase alcoholic beverages.
Jeremiah Sullivan, 52, from Erma, was arrested for disturbing good order and peace by being passed out, intoxicated, in front of Dairy Queen of Rio Grande. He was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center for evaluation by Middle Township Rescue.
A 17 year old female, from Rio Grande, was charged with purchasing alcoholic beverages as a minor. She was accompanied by an adult, who was in possession of the alcohol, but the juvenile made the purchase. The adult, Julie Grube, 22, of Rio Grande, NJ was arrested for supplying and/or purchasing alcohol for a minor.
The department will continue these types of plain clothed details in areas of the township throughout the year.
